FAQ
Bruxism is when you grind or clench your teeth unconsciously, usually during sleep. Bruxism can be caused by a number of things, including stress, anxiety, sleep apnea, or even just an abnormal bite.
Nighttime teeth grinding can cause many problems, including headaches, jaw discomfort, sleep disruption, and damage to the teeth. Although bruxism has no cure, using a nightguard is an easy and cost-effective way to alleviate your symptoms. Nightguards act as a cushion between your teeth while you sleep, preventing your teeth from grinding against each other and allowing you to sleep through the night and wake up feeling refreshed.
Unlike other nightguards, Rodeo Dental nightguards are created with a patented material called Vistamaxx™ that provides a superior fit and unrivaled comfort. The nightguards will (remove actually replace with continue to) shrink 24 hours after forming to provide a super snug fit. Rodeo Dental nightguards offer a custom fit to your teeth in less than two minutes with the ability to refit as needed. Furthermore, our nightguards are latex, BP, PVC and phthalate-free and will not absorb water, saliva or bacteria.
Rodeo Dental nightguards can be heated in the microwave for quick and easy fitting - no boiling required! However, they can be formed using boiling water. Fitting instructions are included in each package and are available here.
First, make sure you judge the fit 24 hours after it has been formed since the material will shrink. If it isn’t (remove not) snug the next day, repeat the fitting process and focus on pushing the fitting material in the teeth when it’s warm and moldable. NOTE: do not push the material into the teeth if the person has braces. The products all work with braces, but have a separate fitting process.
No problem! Our nightguards are made with our patented Vistamaxx™ material, which can be reheated and remolded multiple times. However, if the material touches itself when hot, it can be nearly impossible to separate. Make sure to roll up a wet paper towel and place it in the channel between mouth guard walls before placing in the microwave because that will help prevent the walls from collapsing during the heating process.
Yes, the Rode Dental nightguard is latex, BPA, PVC and phthalate-free. .
Although Rodeo Dental nightguards are tough enough to withstand daily grinding, we recommend replacing your nightguard every year for best results.
We recommend using CustMbite’s All-Natural Oral Appliance cleaner. Otherwise, surface bacteria can be cleansed with soap and (cold) water. The nightguard can also be put in the dishwasher. Be sure to store the nightguard in its ventilated case when not in use.
